I was thinking yesterday about work, working from home, being a mom and all the work that comes along with that job and I started thinking about the things that I struggle with. One thing I realized is that I don’t blog much of my personal life on my business blog. There are some things that shouldn’t be shared, but I think there are others that should be. So, I’ve made a decision to start sharing some things.
Yesterday as I was in my laundry room, working away on the many loads that come my way, I started to think about my “To Do” list. The more I started to think about it, the more I started to realize how much I’m not a fan of them. Okay, I like the idea of them, the way they help me know what needs to get done that day or week, but I don’t like the feeling I get when items don’t get crossed off. I like how I feel when something gets completed, that positive, feel good vibe. I don’t like the failure feeling when something doesn’t get done. So from here on out, I’m changing that. To ensure I get the feel good feeling, I have decided to create a “Got Done” list. When I complete something, I will write it down. This way, I will see exactly what got done in my day and not what I still have to do.
I know that there will be days when I don’t have much written down, but I’m okay with that. At least I won’t have a list staring me in the face making me feel as though I’ve failed. I will still have a to do list because they definitely help with outlining what needs to be done, but its not going to be what my day is surrounded around. I’m going to focus on the things I’ve completed and be happy with my day. Here’s to feeling good about my accomplishments!
